Il y a quatre ans, Jackie et son mari Dave, ont pass\u00e9 une ann\u00e9e au N\u00e9pal o\u00f9 ils ont mis en route une petite \u00e9cole pour les enfants de la rue. Actuellement, l\u2019\u00e9cole marche bien, mais Jackie et Dave doivent trouver des fonds !<\/p>\n<p>Jackie nous a expliqu\u00e9 le projet de faire une randonn\u00e9e au Camp de Base de l\u2019Everest et elle m\u2019a invit\u00e9 \u00e0 me joindre au groupe. Bonne id\u00e9e ! Donc, le 17 octobre, nous sommes partis de Heathrow en route pour Katmandou, la capitale du N\u00e9pal. Le lundi 24, un groupe de douze randonneurs arrive \u00e0 Lukla, un petit village qui se trouve \u00e0 cinquante kilom\u00e8tres de l\u2019Everest. Les guides s\u2019appellent Kalyan et Kishor et il y a six porteurs : en tout, une petite arm\u00e9e est en marche.<\/p>\n<p>Chaque matin, un v\u00e9ritable escadron de petits avions arrive \u00e0 Lukla de Katmandou. Les avions atterrissent toutes les dix minutes de neuf heures jusqu&#8217;\u00e0 midi.<\/p>\n<p>De Lukla, le chemin vers l\u2019Everest suit la vall\u00e9e du fleuve Imja, un torrent alpin qui descend des glaciers qui entourent les montagnes en haut. En route, nous partageons le sentier avec des files d\u2019\u00e2nes, de yaks, de chevaux et de b\u0153ufs. Il y a des randonneurs fran\u00e7ais, anglais, am\u00e9ricains, br\u00e9siliens, australiens ; bref de partout. En route, j&#8217;ai l\u2019occasion de parler plusieurs langues. Une exp\u00e9rience inattendue, mais tr\u00e8s agr\u00e9able.<\/p>\n<p>Le lendemain, on arrive \u00e0 Namch\u00e9, la derni\u00e8re ville avant l\u2019Everest. Les habitants de Namch\u00e9 sont au nombre de mille. Chaque ann\u00e9e, il y a deux saisons touristiques, l&#8217;une au printemps et l&#8217;autre en automne. Les touristes sont nombreux. La plupart passent deux nuits \u00e0 l\u2019aller et une au retour. Les h\u00f4tels sont simples mais confortables. A l&#8217;altitude de 3.400m, c&#8217;est la ville de cette taille, la plus haute au monde. Il n&#8217;y a aucune voiture ! Presque tout le monde arrive \u00e0 pied. Il y a une piste d&#8217;atterrissage pour h\u00e9licopt\u00e8res pour les urgences ! Tout ce qui arrive, arrive \u00e0 pied ou \u00e0 dos d\u2019homme ou de b\u00eate.<\/p>\n<p>En route, on passe quelques petits hameaux. Les enfants me font \u00ab high five \u00bb et disent \u00ab Hello \u00bb.  }      });    <\/script>    \n<p>La vue de la fen\u00eatre de l&#8217;h\u00f4tel est vraiment claire. Les montagnes qui entourent Namch\u00e9 font plus de cinq mille m\u00e8tres ; plus hautes que le Mont Blanc. Et le ciel est bleu ! Le temps est parfait. Il fait beau pendant la journ\u00e9e et il fait froid pendant la nuit. A l&#8217;h\u00f4tel, tout le monde passe la soir\u00e9e dans la salle \u00e0 manger, car il y a un po\u00eale \u00e0 bois. On se couche de bonne heure, mais les chambres sont froides. Le matin, nous d\u00e9jeunons en groupe. La nourriture est bonne. On peut manger de la nourriture occidentale comme des hamburgers, des spaghettis, mais je pr\u00e9f\u00e8re la nourriture n\u00e9palaise ; je pense que c\u2019est plus prudent !<\/p>\n<p>Un pont `a suspension La premi\u00e8re vue du Mont Everest<\/p>\n<p>Apr\u00e8s avoir quitt\u00e9 Namch\u00e9, nous passons cinq jours en route vers le camp de base de l\u2019Everest. Chaque jour, on marche pendant six heures, dix kilom\u00e8tres du trajet et quatre cents m\u00e8tres d\u2019altitude. La v\u00e9g\u00e9tation change, les arbres deviennent des arbustes, et puis ils disparaissent compl\u00e8tement. Le terrain devient un d\u00e9sert de sable et puis un d\u00e9sert de neige. La temp\u00e9rature tombe. Les nuits sont froides. Les trekkeurs sont moins nombreux, il y a des files de yaks, mais aucune d\u2019\u00e2nes, aucune de b\u0153ufs. Le cinqui\u00e8me jour le but est atteint ! Nous arrivons au camp de base de l\u2019Everest, \u00e0 l\u2019altitude de 5400m. Tout le monde a le mal d\u2019altitude, mais nous sommes heureux. Nous connaissons la joie de Hilary et Tensing.<\/p>\n<p>En octobre, il n\u2019y a personne au camp de base. Les alpinistes n\u2019y vont que du mois de mars au mois de juin. Apr\u00e8s le camp, la route vers le sommet est dangereuse, car elle traverse un glacier avant de monter dans la montagne sauvage. Nous prenons des photographies avant de commencer la descente qui est moins difficile que l\u2019ascension. Une semaine plus tard, nous arrivons \u00e0 Katmandu. Tout le monde est enrhum\u00e9. Mais nous sommes en bonne forme.<\/p>\n<p>C\u2019\u00e9tait un s\u00e9jour agr\u00e9able. Maintenant, le groupe discute du prochain trek en 2018. Jackie est heureuse car l\u2019\u00e9cole a dix mille livres pour sa continuation. Quelqu\u2019un qui est en bonne sant\u00e9 et qui peut faire une randonn\u00e9e quotidienne quinze kilom\u00e8tres, sept jours de suite peut le faire. La route pour l\u2019Everest est comparable \u00e0 celle du Ridgeway dans notre coin. L\u2019ascension et l\u2019altitude sont des d\u00e9fis, mais l\u2019aventure en vaut la peine.
